The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) today confirmed the matchups and schedule for the quarterfinal matches of the 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf League. The third round of the expanded competition will take place September 24-26 and October 1-3.
The 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf League kicked off in July with a new Preliminary Round. After home-and-away play, the six matchup winners joined the top nine ranked Central American clubs and the runner-up of the 2019 Caribbean Club Championship Waterhouse FC, in the Round of 16.
Round of 16 action culminated on Thursday night in Central America, with Alianza FC (SLV), Waterhouse FC (JAM)
and CD Olimpia (HON) joining AD San Carlos (CRC), CA Independiente (PAN), FC Motagua (HON), Comunicaciones FC (GUA) and Deportivo Saprissa (CRC) in the quarterfinals.
The four quarterfinal parings are as follows:
Matchup #1: FC Motagua (HON) vs Waterhouse FC (JAM)
Matchup #2: AD San Carlos (CRC) vs Alianza FC (SLV)
Matchup #3: CA Independiente (PAN) vs Deportivo Saprissa (CRC)

The first leg quarterfinal matches are scheduled to take place September 23-26, followed by the second leg matches on October 1-3. The semifinals, to be disputed among the four quarterfinal winners are planned for the last two weeks of October. The home-and-away finals will take place November 5-7 and 26-28. The complete schedule can be found here and below.
Concacaf also confirmed that the home quarterfinal matches for Honduran clubs CD Olimpia and FC Motagua, scheduled for Thursday, September 26 and Wednesday, October 2, respectively, will be played at the Olympic Stadium in San Pedro Sula, behind closed doors. Should either or both Honduran club advance to the semifinal stage of the competition, those matches would also have to be played behind closed doors, at the Olympic Stadium. The decision, aimed at guaranteeing the safety of the participating clubs, officials and fans, has been taken following incidents and serious breaches of security at the Tiburcio Carias Andino Stadium, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
In addition to qualifying its champion to the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League, the expanded tournament now qualifies an additional five teams. At the end of the quarterfinals, the four semifinalists and the two best-ranked quarterfinalist who do not advance to the semifinalist will qualify for the 2020 edition of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League.
Fans will be able to follow all the action through the Confederation’s partner networks, including TUDN (United States), Yahoo Sports (United States), Fox Sports Latin America (Mexico & Central America), TSN (Canada), Flow Sports (Caribbean) and other local partners. For other territories, the tournament will be available on Concacaf GO (subject to territory restrictions).
